World trick shot champion at Northwick Park

03 April 2007

WORLD GOLF TRICK-SHOT CHAMPION TO STAR IN HARROW

The World Golf Trick Shot champion 2005, will be performing his jaw-dropping stunts at Playgolf Northwick Park, Harrow, on Easter Sunday.

Paul Barrington, who won the title in 2005, hits golf balls off a house-brick, swings two clubs at the same time and hits balls – and can smash the ball over 300 yards while on his knees!

Paul will be performing from 10am on April 8 at the free Open Day – the start of a week-long series of events organised by Premium Golf Schools, who run all teaching at the unique Watford Road golf complex.

“I have seen Paul’s show before and I didn’t think it was possible to do what he does. If you want to see raw skill, you have got to see this show, it is genuinely inspiring,” said Alex Nicolson, Director of Premium Golf Schools.

Other events include a ‘Hole in one’ competition, with the chance to take on European Tour player James Heath on Northwick Park’s replica of the 12th hole at Augusta – with anyone lucky enough to ace the hole in line for a £10,000 prize.

And elsewhere on the fantastic practice facility, everyone from complete beginners to top players can have a go at beating the Premium Golf Schools Professionals at a range of skills.

“It’ll be a lot of fun”, promised Matthew Humphrys, one of the coaches. “The Open Day is ideal for anyone interested in golf, and if you have any questions about improving your game or taking it up from scratch, we will be on hand to help.”

From Easter Monday for the whole week, Premium Golf Schools are offering introductory classes to golfers and would-be golfers of all ages and abilities.

In addition, throughout the week, youngsters have the chance of joining the Premium Golf Schools ‘Search For A Star’ programme - designed to uncover Harrow’s best young golfing prospects.

The ten most promising youngsters from all that attend the week will be offered scholarships on a new junior development programme, which aims to produce golf stars of the future.

Youngsters under the age of 16 can sign up to take part by emailing info@premiumgolfschools.co.uk and full details of the school’s Open Week – which includes a raft of golf activities – can be found on the Premium Golf Schools website at http://www.premiumgolfschools.co.uk/OpenWeek.html.
